Triabunna

In 2006, Triabunna was one of two clubs admitted to the Southern Football League’s regional league, the other being the newly formed Central Hawks.

Known as the 'Roos, Triabunna endured an inauspicious debut season which yielded no wins from 18 roster matches, a miserly percentage of 25.1%, and - needless to say - the wooden spoon. Sadly, the 2007 season brought a near identikit repeat of this performance, but there then followed a modicum of improvement.

In 2009 the Southern Football League was honed down to a single division after the defection of most of the stronger premier league clubs to the newly established statewide competition. Nevertheless, Triabunna still managed just one win from 18 games for the year to finish last.

The club has enjoyed success in the past, however, claiming post-war senior grade premierships in various competitions on no fewer than eleven occasions, most recently in the now defunct Tasman Football Association.

The club changed it's name and mascot becoming known as the East Coast Bombers at the beginning of the 2011 season. After five seasons competing in the SFL the club effectively disbanded before reviving in 2016 as the Triabunna Football Club once more and affiliating with the Oatlands District Football Association in which they had previously competed between 2001 and 2005, claiming a premiership in 2002 and finishing second two years later. Their return to the competition was not a happy one, however, as they lost all 18 matches contested en route to another wooden spoon. The following season brought a measure of improvement as the 'Roos won 5 of their 19 roster matches to climb to sixth place on the eight team premiership ladder while in 2018 they won 6 games to rise to fifth.
