The modern incarnation of the Wynnum Football Club has enjoyed moderate success over the course of its forty-seven year history. In 2017 the Vikings began competing in Division Three of the Queensland Football Association, winning 9 of 16 matches for the year to finish fifth. A year later they showed some improvement to qualify for the finals and ultimately finish fourth.
