Match Report

The other Saturday afternoon match took place a half-hour later than that at Oval Avenue, the Redlegs hosting the Tigers at the Coopers Stadium in Norwood. Back in Round 3, the Tigers were the victors on home turf, taking a 31-point victory. Since that time, the Tigers have had mixed results but no wins against top three sides. They went down to the Roosters by 10 points last week, while the Redlegs narrowly escaped from Richmond with the chocolates.

Depending on where you were watching on Seven television, you may have had some difficulty watching this with the weather playing havoc with the transmission. The early proceedings were almost like watching their earlier season game, only this time the one-point quarter-time margin belonged to the Redlegs with the board reading 3.3 to 3.2. The Redlegs should have really piled on the punishment in the second quarter, but their forays into their attacking zone yielded small rewards as the rain came down. They scored 3.7 to the Tigers' 1.3 to lead by 17 points at the long break. The Redlegs found the goals easier to come by when play resumed, the Tigers on the other hand weren't having the same luck as the gap stretched to 32 points by the final change after a 4.2 to 1.5 third quarter. That would end up being the final result with both sides scoring 2.1 in the final term.

Matt Panos was named best on ground for the 'Legs, Matt Snook was voted Glenelg's best.
