At Broadspectrum Oval, the ABC Match of the Day took place between the Bloods and the Double Blues.
Westies had a promising start, taking a lead of 19 points at quarter time. However, the Blues weren't going to take this lying down and began to reel the home side in. A scoreline of 6.1 to West's 5.2 saw Sturt close to within 14 points. All six of those goals coming within six minutes. The Bloods wilted in the third quarter, the Blues booting another 6.3 to 2.4 to snatch the lead of nine points. The final stanza was a fiery one, but West's efforts were not enough to stop the victory going to the Blues.
They won by five points, Chambers booted five goals and Eckermann named best. Jericho was named best for the Bloods with his five goals.
