At Woodville Oval, the Panthers seemed to have their work cut out for them against an undefeated Eagles outfit.
The former bottom four team quickly showed their intentions, the first quarter saw the visitors lead by 20 points at the siren. South extended that lead a little in the second quarter to lead the home side by four goals at the half time break. The Eagles kicked themselves back into the game in the third quarter, closing the gap to 15 points but the Panthers weren't done with the punishment. They slammed home seven goals to the Eagles three to run home winners by 39 points, Mike Davis kicking five for the day.
