In the final game of the round, the ABC Match of the Round was held on neutral ground at Adelaide Oval as the Roosters fought for a double chance in the finals against the Redlegs. Again the conditions of the day were woeful, and as a result so was some of both teams' skill.
Norwood was not going to end 2005 without a fight and they began proceedings by establishing a 12 point lead at quarter time. North's first goal came in the second term, but at half time they were still down by seven points. At resumption of play, North were kept to four behinds while Norwood added 1.4 to their score. The double chance in the finals were snatched from North's grasp in the end, in a low scoring contest the Redlegs went out swinging with a seven point win.
