Friday night football returned to The Parade when the new season kicked off, under new coach Trevor Hill, the Redlegs squared off against Glenelg who have Mark Mickan in the driver's seat.
Glenelg got off to an awesome start, establishing a lead of 30 points at quarter time after a 7.2 to 2.2 first term. That lead was reduced to three goals at half time as Norwood began to claw their way back, the Legs kicking 5.2 to Glenelg's 3.2. After the long break, the Tigers continued to lose their grip on the game, the Redlegs continuing to draw closer and closer. At the three quarter-time siren, Glenelg was still in the lead, but only by two points. The home side finally stole the show in the final term, the Redlegs home by 11 points after booting 4.5 to 2.4.
Jamie Vlatko bagged five goals and Kris Massie was named best for Norwood, Fisher best for Glenelg.
