At Unley Oval, the Redlegs paid a visit to the Double Blues.
The Redlegs would take the first quarter lead of two points, but the Blues would come back in the second term to lead by three points at the long break. When the teams came back to the field, the Redlegs were red hot and firing. The Blues, in contrast, were on and off. They had their moments but not enough of them to stop the Norwood charge. In the third term, the 'Legs were off and away to a 22 point three-quarter time lead after kicking 8.3 to 4.2. But the fight wasn't completely over as the home side made a last ditch effort to steal the game. The Redlegs wouldn't have any of it though, they did enough in the end -- 5.4 to Sturt's 6.1 -- to seal a 19 point win.
Nick Jackman was best afield for Norwood and Jade Sheedy was Sturt's standout performer.
