At Broadspectrum Oval, where West Adelaide was payed a visit by Norwood. The Redlegs were absolutely filthy about their narrow loss last week to the Eagles, and the Bloods haven’t gone down without a fight as of yet but still haven’t been able to nab the points.
West fans were hoping for something different today and they looked like they were going to get it as the Bloods started proceedings with a nine-point lead at the first change. That lead was brought back to five points before half time as Norwood outscored the home team, they added 5.4 to West’s 4.6. Again the Bloods would suddenly find themselves on the back foot, the visitors overtaking them in the third quarter to reverse the five-point deficit of half time to favour the ‘Legs. A low scoring third term saw Norwood add 3.2 to West’s 1.4. The Redlegs then broke away for the victory, they booted 7.2 to the Bloods’ 4.2, which set up their 23 point win.
WA recruit Rob de Jongh booted five for the Redlegs and Stuart Bown was named best, while Power rookie James Ezard pushed for AFL duty by being named best for the Bloods.
