Down south at Noarlunga Oval, the Panthers faced the Double Blues in the ABC Match of the Day. The Blues still had not tasted victory and not much was going to change today.
Although a bit inaccurate at goal, the Panthers were away to a 22 point lead at quarter-time. That lead was extended slightly to four goals at half-time, South kicking 4.3 to Sturt's 4.1. The Panthers moved in waves, punishing any mistake and use of handballing was high, in the third term the home side put another 6.3 away whilst keeping Sturt down to 1.3. At three-quarter time the Panthers were up by nine goals. The final term was the only quarter where the Blues showed some fight by kicking 6.4, but the Panthers' additional 5.4 saw them home by 48 points to notch up their second win of the season and moved into the top five.
Craig Parry justified his selection for state representative duty as South's best, while Adam Thomson was on of Sturt's few shining lights.
