At Broadspectrum Oval, the Bloods were hoping for a miracle against the Eagles, but even the inclusion of the Crows' Scott Welsh would not save the home side today.
The Eagles would begin the days' proceedings by getting out to a 13 point lead at quarter time, 3.3 to West's 1.2. The visitors would stretch that margin out to 39 points to end the first half after adding 5.4 to the Bloods' rather rubbish 1.2. At the resumption of play, the home side would pull off their best quarter of the year. In the third quarter, they restricted the Eagles to just 1.3 whilst bagging 5.2 for themselves. It would do them little good however because it seemed the visitors left the best for last. That's exactly what they did, piling on seven goals from 11 shots and keeping the Bloods to a measly 1.4.
Justin Cicollela was given best on ground honours in his side's 52 point win, Ben Haynes was West's few shining lights.
