In the final match of the round, the Bulldogs were out for a win to secure the double chance, but could the home ground advantage of the Bloods at Richmond be enough to stop that happening? Simple answer... no.
To begin proceedings, the Bulldogs kept the Bloods to a mere three behinds as they jumped out to a 31 point lead at quarter time. Poor kicking by the Bloods in the second term didn't bring the margin back, they kicked 5.5 to the Bulldogs' 6.2. The margin was 34 points at the long break. The bad goal shooting bug travelled over to the Bulldog camp for the second half, not that it allowed the Bloods to get any closer. An uninspiring third term laid ahead for Centrals, who kicked 2.6 to West's 2.3, the gap out to 37 points. Behinds were all the home side could muster in the final term, both sided had 16 behinds on the board for the afternoon but it was Central who came out trumps in the end. Four more goals in the last quarter saw them home by 10 goals, stitching up a contest with North Adelaide next week.
Chad O'Sullivan was named Central's best, Ben Hollands was best afield for West.
