Match Report

Again the 2nd Semi-Final was to be contested by the Bulldogs and the Eagles. Woodville-West Torrens finished the regular season minor premiers this year, they went in favourites for the first grand final spot. They fielded a full strength side for this one, but they were in for a rude shock. The Bulldogs' year wasn't as fruitful, their clashes with the Eagles for 2006 ending in 23 and 24 point losses. Those frustrating losses were quickly forgotten as Centrals started off proceedings with a 5.3 to 1.4 first quarter, up by 23 points at quarter time. The Eagles were then kept to just one behind in the second quarter, the Dogs fans in full voice already by this time as their men added a further four goals without a miss in the second term. At the long break, the lead was out to 46 points.

The Eagles found a bit more of the ball in the second half, but inaccuracy was still stuffing up their day. Ken Farmer Medallist Mark Passador failed to fire this day, he only managed two behinds. The lead was brought back to 30 points by the end of the third quarter, but the Eagles wouldn't get too much closer than that from there. Centrals players like Richard Cochrane and Chad O'Sullivan made the Eagles hurt whenever they could down back and up forward, the final term was a shootout with both sides managing just 3.2 a piece. The Bulldogs kept their finals record against the Eagles intact with their six goal victory and setting up their seventh grand final appearance in a row.

The Dogs named Richard Cochrane as best, while the Eagles named Hayden Skipworth as best afield.
