In the last match to close up Round 12, the Roosters headed south to Hickinbotham Oval to face off against the Panthers. Last time these two teams met, heavy rain marred a contest that ended in a draw at Prospect.
The Roosters weren't going to be denied this time as they romped out to a 29-point lead after a 7.2 to 2.3 first quarter. North would add a further 5.4 to South's 2.1 in the second quarter, which saw the visitors stretch the gap to 51 points by the half time break. Both sides bagged 5.5 a piece in the third quarter, which would have disappointed some Roosters fans seeing as they had dominated so well early on. No change to the lead at three-quarter time. The final quarter was the only time that the Roosters were outplayed and outscored, but the damage was already done. The Panthers kicked 6.2 to North's 4.2 to give their score a little more credibility, as the visitors won by 39 points.
James Allan was the best on ground for North Adelaide, while Souths named captain Clay Sampson as their best afield.
