In the final match of the round, Adelaide Oval once again opened its gates for SANFL football following its refitting of the pitch, with Sturt and Glenelg getting first feel of it for 2007.
Despite the Double Blues controlling most of the first quarter, they were up by just 10 points at the first change after kicking 4.6 to Glenelg's 3.2. Their hold on the game was ruthlessly wrestled away from the Blues in the second quarter though, men like Richard Douglas and Justin McConnell among the goalkickers that bagged 7.2 to Sturt's 1.4 to take a 24 point lead going into the long break. When play resumed, the Blues tried everything to reduce that deficit, but both sides slotted through 5.2 in the third term so the margin remained the same at 24 points by the final change. The day would belong to the Tigers, a seven goal to five final term saw them run out winners by 37 points.
The return of Trevor Cranston to league footy was no better timed, but it was Richard Douglas and his seven goals that had him named best afield for Glenelg. Ben Nelson was best on ground for the Blues.
