In the final match to finish off Round 16, the Eagles hosted the Tigers at Woodville Oval. The Eagles have had a comparable run to the Bays in the past five weeks, with the Eagles missing one match to a bye and Glenelg's tie-game against the Magpies, but both suffering at the hands of Centrals.
Someone must have dropped a stun grenade in the Tiger rooms before hand, the Eagles skipping off to a 27 point lead by quarter time after booting 6.4 to 2.1. That gap was widened to 34 points by half time, after the Eagles put through a further 4.2 to Glenelg's wasteful 2.7 effort. When play resumed, the margin would stay the same up to three quarter time, both teams booting through 3.4. Glenelg made one last ditch effort to reel the Eagles back in, but the home side did enough here to put the game out of reach of the visitors. Glenelg kicked 6.3, but the Eagles 4.2 final term was enough to see them win by 21 points.
The Eagles named Leigh Treeby as their best, while Ben Moore literally bled for his club and was best afield for Glenelg.
