Match Report

It's off to the Prospect Oval for the battle of the northerners between North Adelaide and Central District. Prospect has been a happy hunting ground for the Bulldogs for years, but the last couple of weeks has seen the league leaders really tested.

This time the Roosters were the aggressors and at the end of the first quarter, the home side was up by 24 points after restricting the visitors to just one behind. The Dogs bit back in the second quarter, closing the gap to 11 points by half-time after booting six straight goals while the Roosters kicked 3.5. The Roosters took the Doggies to task over anything, a trademark of Centrals' game for ages. North again put the choke-hold on the visitors goals, the Dogs only managing 1.2 while the home side stretched the gap out again and by three quarter time were ahead by 25 points. The Bulldogs had no response to this all-out attack, they were outclassed in every way just like North had been at Menzies Crescent for years. The Roosters kicked a further 3.2 to Centrals' 1.4 to win by 35 points.

North named Dean Howard as their best afield, while Andrew Hayes was voted best for Centrals.
