In the final game to close out the round, the Bloods' new found attitude was about to be tested on away soil, this time down at Hickinbotham Oval against fellow cellar dwellers in the Panthers. There may be some cause for optimism at Richmond thanks to the young guns that have taken the place of several injured frontline players.
They opened up on South early, booting 8.4 to 2.2 to establish a 38 point lead at quarter time. Inaccuracy crept into West's game in the second term, but South didn't fare to much better anyway. West kicked 3.6 to South's 3.4 to extend the gap to 40 points by the long break. The Bloods weren't done yet transferred the inaccuracy bug to South. In the third quarter, Westies kicked 5.2 to South's 2.5 to put the lead up to 55 points at three quarter time. The visitors had already done enough by this point, both sides added three goals to their tally for the last quarter as the Bloods took a nine goal win.
Marc Dragicevic was voted best for the Bloods, the Panthers named David Clarke as their best player.
