Match Report

We head out to The Parade as the Bloods paid a visit to the Redlegs. The Redlegs are on the verge of breaking into the final five, a bye to the Tigers this week was something very handy to them while the Bloods are just playing for some pride.

The opening term was closely fought, the difference being six points to Norwood at quarter-time, 3.4 to West's 2.4. Norwood then put the boosters on, kicking 6.4 to the Bloods' 4.2 to stretch out the gap to 20 points at the long break. The competitive spirit that West has displayed the last few weeks wasn't all there this day, without Marc Dragicevic in the midfield did hurt the Bloods bad. Norwood could have blitzed the Bloods in the third term had they been more accurate, they kicked 3.5 to the visitors' 2.2 to take a 29 point lead at three quarter time. But the Redlegs saved the best for last and did finally blitz the Bloods. Still a bit inaccurate, no-one at the Redlegs would complain as they kicked 8.5 to 3.2 in the last quarter to win by 62 points.

Nick Lower was voted best for the Redlegs, while the Bloods voted in returning captain David Piasente as their best afield.
