Off to the Prospect Oval for the Roosters battle with old grand final rivals Glenelg, the home side even brought out the candy-striped jumper from 1987 for good measure.
But the time for reminiscing would quickly pass, the Tigers getting the jump on the Roosters with a 7.3 to 4.1 first quarter to lead by 20 points at the first change. The onslaught continued in the second quarter, the visitors running rings around the North defence but were a bit inaccurate in goals, kicking 6.7 to 3.2. By the long break, Glenelg were up by 43 points but they weren't done yet. Although the Roosters pegged the lead back a little in the third term, the shootout that ensued during this time reduced it by just three points. North booted six goals without a miss to Glenelg's 5.3, 40 points was the buffer going into the last term. Despite the Roosters' best efforts they just couldn't catch the Tigers, the damage was already done early on in the piece because of North's error ridden game. Glenelg took out a 35 point winners, retaining fifth position on the league table.
The Tigers named John Hinge as their best, while North voted in James Allan as their best afield.
