Match Report

In the final game to finish off Round 2, the Redlegs travelled to the Broadspectrum Oval to face the Bloods. Under a new coach, who brought an army of VFL experienced players an appearance of the Crows' draft pick in Patrick Dangerfield, Westies' most patient of fans were hoping for a win to start their season.

The Redlegs sprayed a few shots on goal and allowed the Bloods to take out a nine-point lead at quarter time. But the Redlegs answered back in the second term, keeping the home side to two behinds whilst kicking 3.3 to be in front by 10 points at the half time break. It was a matter of old habits die hard for West, as the Redlegs kept peppering their goals in the third term. They kicked 5.6 to West's 2.4 to extend the margin to five goals at three-quarter time. The final quarter didn't see many goals, which should concern Norwood coach Trevor Hill, but despite that the visitors added a further 2.4 to West's 2.1 to win by 33 points.

Bryce Campbell must have known some Crows brass was at the game, he was named best for the Redlegs while Ryan Ferguson was West's best on ground.
