In the last Saturday afternoon contest, the Roosters played host to the Panthers at Prospect Oval. The Roosters, with a mountain of motivation after last week's loss to the Bulldogs in Adelaide, went to town on South who were at one stage a bonafide top five team but now looking anything but.
Starting off in the first quarter, the home side booted 7.2 to South's 2.3 to be up by 29 points at the end of the term. North kept up the destruction in the second term when they added a further 5.3 to South's 3.3 to be up by 41 points at the half time break. Another Rooster romp when play resumed would send shockwaves through the South Adelaide camp, although it could have been far worse had they been more accurate. The home side booted through 6.5 to 2.1 in the third quarter, stretching the lead to 69 points by three quarter-time. North finished them off mercilessly in the final term, another six goal term to one finalised the margin at 99 points.
Damon White's efforts and his five goals bagged him best on ground for North while the Panthers voted James Boyd as their best.
