Round 11 started off on Saturday afternoon, the ABC cameras didn't need to go far from headquarters as the Roosters played host to the Bloods at Prospect Oval. North copped it sweet last week, follow that up with all the off-field stuff and now the departure of Chris Ladhams, only a win could shed a little light on the dark cloud gathering over the Roosters.
The Roosters shot out of the blocks quickly, off to a 34 point lead by quarter time after kicking 7.3 to West's inaccurate 1.5. The goals were far less plentiful in the second quarter, but the behinds were as North kicked 2.9 to West's 0.2. At the long break, the Roosters were still in control with a 53 point lead. The Bloods showed a little more fight in the second half, had they been more accurate the margin could have been better. West's 4.6 to North's 4.1 saw the margin drawn back to seven goals. The damage was already done, though. Despite the Bloods continuing to be a pain in the neck in the final term, the Roosters outscored them again in the final term -- six straight goals to the visitors' 5.1 -- to restore the half time gap of 53 points as the winning margin.
James Allan took out best afield votes for North, while Stephen Bailey was named best for the Bloods.
