Match Report

Almost 3,600 turned out for some Friday night football on The Parade at Coopers Stadium as the Redlegs came up against the Tigers. Glenelg have had the wood on the 'Legs for six of the last eight games, including last year's Round 9 thumping by the Bays which saw Norwood kick an embarrassing 1.3 for the entire afternoon.

Records weren't going to improve tonight though, as the Tigers kicked things off with a 6.4 to 2.1 first term to lead at the first change by 27 points, one of those goals on the back of an idiot move by a Redleg full-back before the restart of play. That gap was widened further in the second quarter, where Glenelg booted a further 5.2 while keeping the Redlegs to two behinds to close the first half with a 57 point lead. Inaccurate shooting on goal by the Tigers would be of little help to the Redlegs, who kicked a measly 2.4 to Glenelg's 4.6 to make it a 71 point gap at three quarter-time. The Redlegs outscored the Tigers in the final term, but not even close to making a real run at the visitors. Glenelg ran out 61 point winners in the end.

The Tigers voted in captain Adam Fisher as their best on ground, while Brett Zorzi was Norwood's only real standout.
