At the Prospect Oval, the Roosters played host to the Bloods in a clash between 5th versus 6th. The Bloods had everything to gloat about last week after the biggest upset of the season in their eight point defeat of Central, while the Roosters had a comfortable win themselves. Westies haven't beaten the Roosters for a while now, the last nine games all belonging to the red & whites.
Another walkover seemed to be on the cards as the Roosters started off the day with a 5.4 to 1.0 first quarter, a 28 point lead at the first change. The second quarter wasn't as plentiful on the goal-scoring front, but North extended their lead to 31 points after kicking 2.1 to 1.4 in the second term. After the long break, the Bloods seemed to have fully awoken after they landed home 5.3 to the Roosters' 2.2 to close the gap to two goals going into the final change. But old habits die hard as the Bloods failed to continue firing in the last quarter, managing just two behinds while the home side took 3.2 for themselves to win by 30 points.
James Allan was named best for North, while Ryan Bennett -- plucked from the Riverland two weeks ago -- took best on ground honours for West.
