Once again down The Parade at Coopers Stadium, it was time for some more Friday Night Mayhem as the Redlegs faced the Tigers. For five years the Tigers have had the wood on the Redlegs, nine of the previous 11 matches have gone the way of the Bays including a 76-point belting in this year's season opener. But the Redlegs have undergone a transformation in the last couple of weeks and were looking for a third victory on the trot.
After a closely fought first term which would see Norwood kick 3.1 to 2.2, the Redlegs then jumped ahead to a 25-point lead at the long break after kicking 4.3 to the Tigers' lowly 1.1. The form that saw the 'Legs snap the Blues in half last week was again brought to the fore when play resumed, Norwood went on to add a further 6.5 to the visitors' 2.1. At the final change the Redlegs would be holding a 53-point advantage. The Tigers had nothing left for the final term, managing just 1.2 while the home side added another 3.4 to take a 67-point victory which would catapult them from eighth to third on the league ladder and have the fans sending an ominous message to the reigning premiers.
Nick Duigan was named best afield for the Redlegs, while the Tigers named Josh Carr as their best on ground.
