In the final match of the weekend, we go to House Brothers Oval in Unley where the Double Blues took on the Roosters. Sturt were taken completely off guard last time, not even a third quarter fightback could stop them going down by eight points in Round 2. The Blues may have defeated Centrals last week, but they had not won two on the trot this year.
The Roosters got off to a good start, taking a two goal lead at quarter-time after kicking 3.4 to 1.4. But Sturt would step it up a notch in the second quarter, but inaccuracy would stop them taking the lead as they reeled the Roosters back to a two-point deficit by the half-time break after kicking 3.5 to 2.1. The Roosters kept frustrating the Double Blues in the third quarter, kicking three goals to 2.1 to take a seven-point lead at three quarter-time. But the switch was flicked into the wrong position for the final term and the Double Blues pounced. One behind was all North had for the last quarter... Sturt landed home 6.4 and took out a 32-point victory and breaking their duck to record their first instance of consecutive wins for this season.
Sturt named Tristan Gum as their best afield, while North named Tony Armstrong as their best.
