Sunday would see three games on offer, starting with the contest between the Double Blues and the Bulldogs. The Blues have had it all over the Bulldogs this year, matches in Rounds 5 and 16 going Sturt's way making them the reigning premiers' bogey side for 2010. However, the chances of these two meeting in finals is in doubt if Sturt couldn't climb back into the five.
The Blues would start off with a 3.3 to 1.3 first quarter to lead by two goals at the first change, which they would follow up in the second quarter with a 6.3 to 2.2 effort to take a 37-point lead at the half-time break. This year has brought something that SA footy-heads haven't seen for a long time... the Bulldogs with a clear lack of quickness and being outmatched in hardness on the ball when it counted. But despite that, the Dogs hit back in the third quarter, but inaccuracy would still see them down at three quarter-time after kicking 3.5 to 2.3 to draw the gap back to 23 points. They would keep coming in the final quarter, but the Sturt backmen did enough to stop the charge. Central's 3.1 to the Blues' 1.5 would see the home side back into the five by 15 points.
Former Bulldog John Giles was named best for Sturt, while Ian Callinan was named best for the Dogs.
