West Melbourne on their ground put up one of the best games they have played this season. In the smart handling of the ball and generally clever play the West were well ahead. They led at every quarter; though as their advantage on the final change was only 25 points to 11, there was nothing to prevent Williamstown coming along with a rallying burst. They did rally to a slight extent, but not sufficiently to win. It was a very pleasant game and a good one to watch, the curious thing about it being that the winners played better football against the wind than they did when it favoured them.
