Match Report

At Prospect Oval the Roosters faced their old rivals in the Tigers. Last season the Tigers were pretty much North's play thing, the Roosters inflicting 57 and 42 point wins in their matches in Rounds 9 and 14 respectively. But in their most recent game, it was the Tigers' turn to embarrass their old Grand Final nemesis as they notched up their first victory in 2015. The Tigers took a 35-point win in Round 9 at Gliderol Stadium, swapping places with the Roosters who have now become the basket case of the league, plagued by injury after injury to key personnel. And even against the ninth-placed Tigers, 2015 was going to continue to spiral.

It didn't happen right away, a low-scoring first term greeting the 1,100+ that turned out. The Tigers would lead by four points at quarter-time after scoring 2.1 to 1.3 in the opening term. A horrid time in front of goal in the second term for the Roosters allowed the Tigers to stretch their advantage to 13 points by the half-time break after scoring 3.2 to North's 1.5. The Roosters' flawless scoring in the third term would prove to be their only highlight, but their four goals and even Glenelg's own inaccuracy would not allow them to make up any ground as the deficit was extended to five goals after the Tigers scored 6.5. The visitors would finish the game with a blitz, ramming home 7.2 to the Roosters' lowly two goals to leave Prospect with a 62-point win, pretty much sealing North's 2015 fate as wooden spooners as they now face mostly top five teams to finish the season.

Sam Lonergan was voted best afield for Glenelg, the Roosters named Rhys O'Keefe as their best on ground.
