After stints in the VFA with North Melbourne (1900-1) and Williamstown (1902-3) Arthur Legge joined Essendon in 1904. Of diminutive build, he played for most of his six season, 69 game VFL career as a rover changing in the forward lines. He was always dangerous near goal and his overall tally of 31 included one of Essendon’s three in the losing premiership decider of 1908 against Carlton.
