Bill Heatley was a fringe player at Collingwood between 1908 and 1911. Mostly used as a forward, he was also a fairly capable defender when needed. During his time with the Magpies he played precisely 50 VFL games and scored 19 goals, but did not take part in either the club’s winning grand final of 1910 or the losing flag decider of the following year. In 1912 he crossed to Brighton in the VFA, but played just five games and kicked one goal before retiring.
