From Tyntynder, Charlie McInnes suffered the misfortune of being Carlton’s 19th man in the victorious VFL grand finals of both 1938 and 1945. Nevertheless, he was a useful footballer, equally effective either on the half forward line or as an on-baller, as he repeatedly proved in playing 118 games and kicking 92 goals for the Blues between 1938 and 1946.
