Chris Natt joined Port Adelaide from Taperoo High School and won the club’s under 19 best and fairest award in 1971 before progressing to league ranks the following year. After managing half a dozen senior games in his debut season he became a regular selection from 1973, and went on to give the Magpies good service, mainly as a ruckman, in 216 games spread over 12 seasons. He was one of Port’s best in the 1980 Grand Final defeat of Norwood, and also played in the following season’s premiership side, when Glenelg provided the opposition. Chris Natt’s younger brother Greg also played senior football (31 games) for Port Adelaide.
