Kerry Good joined North Melbourne from Ulverstone and played 74 VFL games and kicked 150 goals between 1977 and 1983. Capable of marking strongly and sometimes spectacularly, North used him mainly as a forward but he also played in defence on occasion. He is perhaps best remembered for kicking the controversial, post siren goal that gave the Kangas a 3 point victory over Collingwood in the 1980 night series grand final. A mixture of inconsistency and niggling injuries limited his appearances. However, on occasion he produced some excellent football, as for example in round twenty 1980 when he booted 10 goals against Melbourne. After leaving North, Kerry Good resumed with Ulverstone and in his last ever match in 1986 he was a member of their grand final-winning team against Wynyard.

Good is a member of the official AFL Tasmania Hall of Fame.
