Leo Francis was a diminutive (169cm, 74kg) wingman who was a stalwart of North Melbourne teams from 1945 to 1951, during which time he played 78 VFL games and kicked 11 goals. When the Kangas reached their first ever grand final in 1950 Francis was most unfortunate to be sidelined with injury. He later coached Sandhurst.
