As a youngster Mario Turco helped Western Australia claim the 1971 State Schoolboys title in Tasmania. His senior career saw him play 122 games and kick 139 goals for East Fremantle from 1974 to 1979 and between 1983 and 1985, and register nine games and nine goals with North Melbourne from 1980 to 1982. Normally utilised as a forward, his career highlights were playing in East Fremantle’s 1979 and 1985 premiership-winning teams. He contributed four goals to Old Easts’ defeat of South Fremantle in the former year.
