A St Paul's product, Mick Egan played 128 VFL games and kicked 12 goals for Footscray between 1978 and 1987. Most of his football was played as a permanent back pocket, a position to which his ruggedly energetic approach made him ideally suited. Never one to capture either votes or headlines he was nevertheless highly dependable and a firm favourite among the Bulldog faithful.
