Milan Faletic was a useful all round footballer whose best was exceptional, but he did not produce this nearly often enough to be rated a champion. A South Australian state schoolboys representative, he commenced his league career with West Torrens in 1971 and went on to play 151 games and kick 133 goals for the club. In 1978 he crossed to Port Adelaide where he experienced the career highlights of interstate selection (3 times) and membership of the Magpies' victorious Grand Final teams of 1979 against South Adelaide, when he was among the best players on show, and 1980 against Norwood. Faletic spent the 1981 and 1982 seasons with St Kilda in the VFL for whom he played 24 games and kicked 33 goals. He returned home to Port for one more season in 1983, taking his final tally of games with the club to 78, and the number of goals kicked to 106.
