Perhaps the least celebrated of the three Collingwood Twomey brothers, Pat Twomey was nevertheless a useful footballer. Normally deployed either on a wing or a half forward flank he had plenty of pace, was a prodigious kick, could take a decent mark and his play was laced with a healthy dose of venom. His 55 games in a Magpie jumper culminated in the 1953 grand final, in which all three Twomey siblings took part, and shared the spoils of victory. Pat Twomey’s VFL career spanned the years 1947 to 1949 and 1952-3. In between his two stints with the Magpies he played for Warragul.
