One of the most talented wingmen of his generation, Stuart Trott was pacy and tough and capable of racking up numerous possessions. If he had a weakness, it was that his kicking was sometimes slipshod. He joined St Kilda from Frankston Peninsula and was a Saints stalwart in 159 VFL games from 1967 to 1974 . He kicked 69 goals. A member in 1971 of St Kilda’s losing grand final team, he was club best and fairest in 1972, and skipper in 1973.
In 1975-6 Trott played 41 games and kicked 17 goals for Hawthorn. He was a member of the Hawks’ losing grand final team in his first season.
St Kilda inducted Stuart Trott into the club’s official Hall of Fame in April 2016.
