Tim Elliott was a capable ruckman and key defender who might feasibly have achieved a lot more than he did were it not for a lack of self-confidence. He joined St Kilda from Gippsland Power via the 1994 National Draft, but did not play for the seniors until 1998. He had his best year in 1999 when he played 19 games including several as the team’s principal ruckman when Peter Everitt was sidelined through suspension. By contrast, he managed only half a dozen appearances in 2001, and was de-listed at season’s end having played 47 AFL games for the Saints and kicked 10 goals.
