Bob Kite was a true utility who wholeheartedly embraced the challenge of playing in different positions. He joined Norwood from Laura in 1955, and after a grounding in the senior colts made his senior debut late the following season. He was a useful ball getter and a good team man. His Redlegs career between 1956 and 1964 saw him play 95 SANFL games and kick 58 goals. In 1961 he was a member of both the Norwood reserves premiership team and the senior side which lowered its colours to West Adelaide in the so called ‘Turkish Bath’ grand final. He also played in the winning night series teams of 1956 and 1958.
