Gary Keane was a handy forward from Koroit who did well intermittently at Fitzroy. Playing mainly as a forward he enjoyed an excellent 1987 season which saw him bag 23 goals, take 105 marks, and poll 10 votes in the Brownlow, the equal most by a Fitzroy player. After playing 55 VFL games and scoring 55 goals for the Lions, he was traded to Geelong, only to be sacked by the Cats before he had played a senior game. He later played 13 games and scored 36 goals for Frankston in the VFA from 1989 to 1991.
