From Kingsville, Glenn Gingell was a rangy ruck-rover and wingman who was a solid performer for Footscray in 45 games from 1973 to 1976 in which he scored 21 goals. Midway through his final season he crossed to Brunswick where he added 43 appearances and 86 goals up to the end of a 1979 season which saw the Magpies relegated to second division.
