Jeremy Guard was a talented utility who began and ended his playing career with Claremont. The last game of his first stint with the Tigers was the 1991 grand final in which he contributed three goals to the side’s 19.18 to 8.7 trouncing of Subiaco. Upon returning to Claremont in 1996 he captained the team to that year’s flag via a two point grand final victory over East Perth. All told he played 102 WAFL games and kicked 90 goals for the Tigers from 1989 to 1991 and 1996 to 1998.
Between 1992 and 1995 he lined up for Fitzroy in the AFL. Playing mainly as a defender he was consistency personified in 68 games during which he registered 17 goals.
Jeremy Guard’s father Kerrin also played for Claremont.
