Boasting a long reach, strong hands and a prodigious leap, Jim Munday was one of the finest aerialists of his day. Winner of Geelong’s best and fairest award in 1944, his first season in the VFL, he held down centre half back for the Cats for much of his three year, 44 game, 26 goal career. Prior to joining Geelong he had played 13 games and scored 30 goals in 1940 for Coburg in the VFA.
