A product of Hawthorn Juniors, Pat Keary played in each of Hawthorn’s first six VFL seasons. Normally stationed in a back pocket, he made a total of 61 VFL appearances for the Mayblooms from 1925 to 1930, kicking one goal. After his playing career was over he managed the Hawthorn reserves for more than 20 years, and the club recognised this by naming the reserves best and fairest trophy after him.
