Best afield in Fitzroy’s farcical 1916 challenge final win over Carlton Roy Millen was a fine servant of the club in 117 VFL games between 1913 and 1923, during which he kicked nine goals. Most commonly utilised as a wingman, he was also a highly capable centreman, of the vibrant, straight ahead variety. He later umpired a single VFL game in 1929.
