The son of former champion rover Mick Nunan, Tim Nunan made his SANFL debut for a North Adelaide team coached by his father, in the opening round of the 1991 season. He went on to play in North’s winning grand final team that year against West Adelaide. His playing career continued until 1998, by which time he had made 152 senior appearances for the Roosters and scored 74 goals. In his last season he helped South Australia to a 45 point win over Western Australia at Football Park. Nunan was a dual club best and fairest winner, tying with Tim Perkins in 1995, and claiming the award in his own right the following year.
